This year, there are so many different ways you can participate in Doggie Dash and make a difference for animals.
Doggie Dash is so much more than a walk. It’s a celebration of this community’s love for animals and Oregon Humane Society’s largest fundraiser for shelter pets in need.
After two years of virtual experiences, the pack is back at Waterfront Park on Saturday, May 14 for Portland’s best pet festival, including a walk/run along the Willamette River, food and beverage tastings, vendor booths with giveaways, raffles, contests and more.
Here are five ways you can participate in Doggie Dash 2022.
Register and fundraise.
Register for just $25 (that’s 50% off!) and you’ll gain access to the event on May 14, tons of fundraising resources, our dedicated Doggie Dash Support Team and a community of fellow animal lovers.
You can participate in-person or virtually.
Not to mention, the critical funds you raise help to fight cruelty, save injured animals and find homes for thousands of shelter pets at Oregon Humane Society.
Plus, you can earn awesome fundraising prizes, including the limited-edition Doggie Dash t-shirt and sweatshirt!
Form a team.
Doggie Dash is better together! Register with your friends, family or coworkers and form a fundraising team. You can earn exclusive team fundraising prizes and experiences!
Tune in and donate.
We’re joining our friends at KOIN 6 on Wednesday, May 4 for Doggie Dash Challenge Day—a special telethon benefiting the shelter pets at Oregon Humane Society.
Tune in between 4:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. for incredible stories about the human/animal bond and the lifesaving work happening at our shelter everyday.
Plus, Subaru of Portland and Subaru of America will be doubling your donations up to $30,000! Help us raise much-needed funds for the animals.
Volunteer.
We need our community’s help to make this year’s Doggie Dash run smoothly! If you’re interested in volunteering for the Dash, contact [email protected] for a list of available opportunities.
Note: All volunteers must be 18+. If you wish to volunteer at the event on May 14, please note that you will not be able to bring your own dog, and you will be responsible for your own parking/travel expenses (which are tax-deductible!).
Spread the word.
Can’t participate in the ways mentioned above? Help us spread the word about Doggie Dash!
Share with your social networks or post flyers around your neighborhood coffee shops, pet supply stores or dog parks.
As a local nonprofit, Oregon Humane Society relies on the generosity of animal lovers like you to fund our adoption, education and animal rescue programs. Thousands of shelter pets find their second chances at OHS each year—all because of donors, fundraisers and supporters like you!
