2022 was an unprecedented year for the Oregon Humane Society thanks to incredible President’s Circle donors like you! This past year, we were able to expand our life-saving services in the mid-Valley and open the brand-new Community Veterinary Hospital, the Animal Crimes Forensic Center, and—as of December 16—the Behavior and Rescue Center! We are deeply grateful to our President’s Circle members for their leadership in seeing the expansion of these services through.
You are truly a partner in building Oregon Humane Society’s future. Your input guides us as we identify emerging needs and create new programs to save lives. OHS’ strategic plan for the next five years is ambitious – we have our sights set on making Oregon the safest place in the country for companion animals; ensuring that veterinary care is accessible for all; fighting animal cruelty and neglect; and building a sustainable financial future.
This year, we are working toward these goals by making much-needed improvements to our existing shelters in Portland and Salem. These plans, could not have been made without the input and expertise of countless staff and volunteers who work directly with our animals on a daily basis. Every improvement and design choice has been intentional and will help us to better serve the precious animals in our care.
Construction is already underway at the Portland campus, where we will be making major improvements to our cattery, our small animal housing, and our animal commissaries—just to name a few. Construction is slated to begin later this year at our Salem campus medical center, providing our veterinary staff with critical dental equipment for pets in need.
As we look back at 2022 and look forward toward the year to come, we are thankful for the friendship of President’s Circle donors like you, without which we truly could not have accomplished any of these incredible, precedent-setting milestones in animal welfare. We know there will be challenges in 2023, but with your support we can continue to accomplish extraordinary things.
