What my friends at OHS say about me:

• I have been working with the Behavior team at OHS and I'm looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. Meet and greets are subject to staff availability and you'll need to meet with me multiple times before taking me home.
• To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.
• I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. I already know some basic cues, such as sit, down, stay, leave it, touch, and walking nicely on leash!
• I really enjoy the company of my human friends. I make the cutest "woo-ooo" sounds to let everyone how happy I am to see my friends!
• Bite History: I have a history of biting a person. Read my What to Expect to learn more.
• Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
• I have Hip Dysplasia and may require long term management.
• I recently underwent an orthopedic procedure called a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) and will require physical rehabilitation.

The type of home I'm looking for:

• I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home and neighborhood.
• I need to be the only dog in the home.
• I need a home without cats or other small animals.
• I need to go to an adult only home.

Meet and greets with pets are done on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you come to the shelter and see a pet you are interested in meeting, take note of the pet’s name and visit the front desk in the lobby.
