Stray vs. Feral: What’s the difference?
Both stray cats and feral cats are considered “community cats.” Close observation of the feline’s behavior and body language will help you decide which is which:
- Socialized to people
- May have a history living with people
- Normally will be found alone
- Would thrive living indoors as a pet
- Will run and hide from people
- May have an eartip, meaning they have already been spayed/neutered
- Usually found in groups
- Thrives living outdoors
